Captain Jack Harkness of 133rd, Eagle Squadron

21st January, 1941
It was last night, in Cardiff, Wales when everything changed for me - the night before we were shipping out on another tour, my men fresh from their training. The men enjoyed their last night of R&R. They held a dance for us at the Ritz, and there were angels dancing there that night.

One in particular.

A Captain James Harper of the 71st, and I'm glad he was there. There was something about him, something I knew was different. Like he was there for a reason, and not just the ball. When I heard he was in the 71st, the squadron I wanted to go to, I knew that I wanted to go there more than ever. I just didn't realise why.

Or at least I did, but not just how much.

It was like he cast some sort of spell over me. I said and did things that night I'd always wanted to, and never been able. But he made it right. Made it good. So good.

And then he left, as suddenly as he'd appeared. White light and all.

Just like an angel.

Just like that -

"sound of screaming engine cuts in, flames roaring all around the cockpit which is filled with smoke, so thick nothing of the outside world can be seen*

...hope the men are all down safe...

*coughs from smoke*

... won't mind if I get to see that angel again...

*passes out*

Addendum:
The records show that Captain Jack Harkness, a US volunteer and member of the Eagle Squadron failed to show up for duty on 21st January, 1941.

For anyone who doesn't know Torchwood this LJ has been created to play with the character who appeared in the episode named after him, 'Captain Jack Harkness', where the Captain openly revealed his feelings for 'Captain James Harper of the 71st' and danced with him.

With that in mind, you are hereby warned that this LJ will contain adult content, supernatural themes, and in some instances death and the details of the destruction of war. Consider yourself warned, that if this might offend or upset you in any way, you should not enter.

For those who do, here's a small guide to various techniques that will be used to indicate what's happening in Jack's mind, in particular when he's writing in 1st person POV.

Regular text and speech - well, it's just that, regular text, and speech.

Italicised words such as these... are Jack's own thoughts to himself.

Small text/words/font inside a post... will be the 'whispers' he hears usually Bilis!

I will try and make sure it's clear but if there's anything that isn't just let me know, or ask, and I'll try and clarify it. Thanks!
